Retro Lampshade

Materials needed:
beads
a lampshade
wax-coated hand string
scissors
a needle
a universal light socket
a light harness
a new finial

The first step is to apply the beads to the wax string. Simply guide the wax string through the bead opening. This can be done by hand, but if the bead opening is too small a needle is recommended. (Note: A knot must be placed beneath each bead if specific positioning is desired.)

After the beads have been mounted to the wax string, the next step is to apply the beads to the shade. Take the end of the bead string and apply it to the needle. Once applied to the needle, take the needle and guide it through the lower outer rim of the shade. Repeat this step around the shade as desired.

Next using a universal light socket and a finial with an outer "O" ring, screw the finial and the light stem socket together. It is important to have a finial with an "O" ring because the shade will hang from this.

The final step is to hang the shade where desired and enjoy!
