Outdoor Bamboo Candelabra
Peace and comfort are the name of the game in for this project. With some creativity and spare time, the path to enlightenment will be better illuminated by your very own bamboo candelabra. You'll need the following materials: 1) Cut your bamboo lengths. The length of your bamboo will determine the height of the candelabra. 2) Measure 3 inches on either side of your bamboo lengths and drill holes through the top and bottom. (The hole should be about the diameter of the metal dowel.) The best drilling method is to put your bamboo into a vice grip; this will hold it still and minimize the risk of injury. 3) Take your metal dowels and bend them about 2 inches at a 90-degree angle on one end. This will keep your bamboo from sliding off the end. 4) Slide your bamboo onto the dowels, making sure to push it all the way down to the bend. Continue until you have about 2 inches of dowel left. 5) Bend the end of your dowel at a 90-degree angle. 6) Shape the candelabra into an S shape or any other shape you desire. 7) Decide the spacing of your candles on the bamboo wall. Then use a hot glue gun to affix the terra-cotta plates to the top of the wall. 8) Now you're ready to place the candles. Gluing the candles to the plates will prevent the candles from falling and reduce the risk of fire. 9) Light them up. Your path to Zen enlightenment is now better illuminated.
