Need:
Roto-tiller
Straight Edged Spade
Rake
Wheelbarrow
Organic Amended Soil
Fertilizer - high in nitrogen to stimulate root development
Sod
Sod roller
Garden Knife

How to:
1) Skim top of old lawn with straight -edged spade.

2) Rake loose grass away.

3) Use wheelbarrow to move old grass from lawn to trash.

4) Follow with roto-till to soften soil in order to prepare for new lawn.  Roto-till down about 4 to 6 inches to really soften/loosen soil.

5) Distribute organic amended soil over native soil, roto-till the two together.

6) Distribute fertilizer over entire area.

7) Begin laying sod.  Stagger each new row so the seams are offset.  Be sure to put ends and edges right up against  each other, no gaps.

8) Cut edges with knife to conform to any boundaries, sprinkler heads, etc.

9) Once all sod is installed, use sod roller to ensure good contact between sod and soil.

10) Water thoroughly. 

11) Continue to water everyday.

Tip:  After 10 days, try tugging on an area of sod, if you can't pull it up then it has rooted.
